Asian Premiere of TABARNAK by Cirque Alfonse at the Adelaide Fringe Festival

Following its World Premiere at the Montreal Complètement Cirque Festival this past July 2017,  Tabarnak by the Quebecois circus sensation, Cirque Alfonse, will be premiered in the Asia-Pacific region at the Adelaide Fringe Festival from 16 Feb through 18 Mar.

Cirque Alfonse is the company that brought you Timber!, featured at the Sydney Festival, the Taipei Arts Festival and LCSD in Hong Kong as well as Barbu: Electro-trad Cabaret that just recently had a four-week sold out run at the Sydney Opera House and 12-week run at London’s Wonderground at the Southbank Centre in the UK.

“Cirque Alfonse earned acclaim for its previous shows Timber and Barbu, cabaret, électro-trad, and electrifies once again with this demanding and highly original Tabarnak. This acrobatic piece opens with music by the fabulous electro-trad trio led by David Simard, and the music contributes enormously to the success of this very festive Tabarnak.” La Presse, Montreal Canada

Inspired by the village church that was once the gathering place of the small Quebec community where they grew up, the Cirque Alfonse gang has created their newest production,  Tabarnak.  Having the feel of something like a rock-musical, this is an invitation to come together, a celebration of Heaven and Hell and everything in between, a fiesta of circus, music and reaching for the sky… all in the inimitable style of Cirque Alfonse.  And we all come together for a rollicking good time.
